The Time is Nigh

For if there be sunshine

In walking life’s line

Life be short

Amongst shields and forts

Thy daily bread

Thine Lord hast said

Lou, the time is nigh

As the hounds of hell cry

For I, yes I

Remember the times gone by

Times of evil

Times of broken people

What be the Earth filled?

Is not life a bitter pill

In mine soul, I feel

The Lord’s golden seal

The power the darkness wields

Amongst iron shields

For if there be light,

In the day I shall fight

In the night I shall rest

For I must confess,

Life be a struggle at the best,

To suffer like all others

Our heavenly father,

Hast thou forsaken me?

And yet still I see

For mine eyes, still shine

Lou, the time is nigh

In the darkest hour of Satan’s feast

Shall we not all be turned into wretched beasts?

Yea, there cannot be light

Without the darkness of the winter night

Let ye summon ye strength and ye might

To open thine eyes and see Heaven’s light

For sunshine is thine and mine

Let us dine

Amongst righteousness and wine

Lou, the time is nigh.
